I'm Back!

Ok so watching American Idol, and there was a guy singing a song by Tiny Tim. now this Tiny Tim character used to scare me when I was younger, He was soo eerie, but now that I'm older I have to kind of admire and somewhat feel sorry for him. I mean he had the balls to perform with a very strange presence. Here's a littleback story on him.....

Tiny Tim or Herbert Khaury, son of a Lebanese pops and Jewish mama, he grew up in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Very fond of music from the 19th and early 20th century, he started doing caberets in small clubs. In the 1960's he gained fame performing on the Ed Sullivan and Jackie Gleason variety shows. He was obsessed with good hygiene, and his distaste for sex seemed logical when paired with his gentle, asexual demeanor. His rendition of "Tip-Toe Through the Tulips" became a hit and sold over 200,000 copies. Tim married his girlfriend, 17-year-old Victoria Budinger (known as Miss Vicki). They had a daughter, Tulip, and divorced after eight years. By the early '70s high-profile gigs dried up, Tim kept plugging away, performing whenever and wherever he could. He remarried in 1984 to 23-year-old Miss Jan. They lived apart most of the time and the marriage lasted until 1994. Tim joined a circus for 36 weeks. In August of 1995 he married for a third time to Miss Sue, and he moved to Minneapolis. In September of 1996, he suffered a heart attack while performing at a ukulele festival in Massachusetts. Upon his release from the hospital, Tim resumed his concert schedule, but sadly, on November 30, he suffered another heart attack in Minneapolis while performing "Tip-Toe Through the Tulips," and died an hour later.

One of my fav's
